Project Engineer

Power Grids Division delivers products, systems, service and software solutions as part of its comprehensive power & automation offering for the grid across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain - serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure customers.

Power Grids offers its solutions through four business units that are grid automation and grid integration, high-voltage products and transformers. We are close to 3500+ employees in PG division.

You will be responsible for the following activities as a Project Engineer

• Execute the projects as per contract schedule and contractual conditions.
• Achieve the revenue in line with Budget of Business Unit.
• Review the order against the offer made during the tendering stage. Understand terms and conditions of project contracts, including awareness of risks of negative impact on margin, performance and risk factors.
• Plan, monitor and control the project activities (Scope, Time and Cost) proactively.
• Execute the process activities in SAP and maintain the documentation as per ISO and ABB process requirements throughout the project cycle.
• Co-ordinate with the engineering team for preparation of drawings/documents and arrange submission to the customer for approval.
• Co-ordinate with customer for timely approval of drawings and documents and resolution of all project related queries/issues during execution.
• Provide Interface between customer and other functions of factory during execution.
• Single point contact for customer and Assures ABB commitments to customer are met, in accordance with contract.
• Seek to improve customer satisfaction and feedback through consistent customer interaction.
• Encourage openness and respect, build trust, confidence and loyalty with customers.
• Prepare and submit project progress report to customer as per contractual requirements.
• Responsible for management of project related change requests and change orders.
• Evaluate and identify the risk in project proactively and implement the mitigating actions.
• Co-ordinate with customer for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and arrange the timely dispatch clearances.
• Co-ordinate with commercial team for Invoicing and with logistic team for dispatch of goods.
• Co-ordinate with service team for installation, testing and commissioning at site.
• Co-ordinate with Front end sales for timely collection of payment.
• Arrange the Acceptance certificates (PAC, FAC) from customer as per contractual conditions.
• Project closure.
• Report status/progress to internal stake holders/management with appropriate details.

Candidates holding B.E/B.Tech in Electrical with 4+ years of experience in Project Management/Order execution of Gas Insulated Switchgears or High Voltage products will be an ideal fit for this position.
