Within Operations, Operations Risk Management is a key global team working closely with the Operations teams to provide transparency around key risks, assess appropriateness of risk mitigation strategies and set the appropriate divisional frameworks to manage risk.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Divisional Risk Management [DRM] is a global team within Operations Risk Management based in NY, London, SLC, Bgl and SGP. DRM provides a service that focusses on the risk data strategy and tooling as well as providing key frameworks and cross operations services around Risk & Controls Self-Assessment, Risk Reviews & Control Testing and Assurance, Divisional Vendor governance, Crisis Management and Divisional Regulatory Response.

Divisional Vendor Management (DVM) is looking for a VP to join an established team of three to actively and effectively manage the Operations vendor population and associated risks while driving commercial value for the Division. The role primarily related to the execution of all DVM processes globally including oversight of the day to day team. Additionally the role will involve participating in Firmwide and Divisional vendor initiatives to enhance the program from a risk, transparency and efficiency perspective. In this role you will interface with global stakeholders and senior leaders in Operations, Technology Risk and the Firmwide Vendor Management Office and be responsible for running multiple projects focused on efficiency and controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven background in vendor management to operate in a globally capacity.
DVM responsibilities include:-
  • Developing and maintaining the divisional vendor management program and procedures and ensuring they aligned to the Firmwide Program
  • Ensuring Vendor Relationship Owners are continually trained and up to date on program requirements
  • Engaging with Risk Partners across the organization (e.g. compliance, technology) , as needed, on behalf of the division to understand vendor risks
  • Reporting to divisional leadership on divisional vendor management activities, including outstanding risks and ongoing initiatives
  • Reviewing and approving new vendor relationships and off-boarding requests to confirm relevance to business requirements
  • Co-ordination of vendor regulatory uplift requirements
  • Increase the awareness on Vendor Management and strengthen the control mindsets of Operations teams globally
  • Coordinate, develop and participate in divisional vendor training initiatives to raise awareness of the framework as well as develop the risk management skills of all Operations professionals.

  • Demonstrate understanding of Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly
  • Knowledge of products and processes related to the financial services industry would be an advantage, as is related experience in a client service or business function and / or management consulting
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of job-related operational and compliance procedures
  • Understands and appropriately addresses Goldman Sachs compliance and reputational judgment issues
  • An energetic self-starter that can liaise with various Operations & other Federation teams both regionally and globally.
  • Experience and knowledge in the Firm’s operational processing and control requirements
