The SharedServices and Outsourcing Advisory (SSOA) practice advises clients to developand implement ‘services globalization and management’ strategies. The goal ofthe practice is to provide clients with the full suite of capabilities requiredto provision services and drive high value, sustainable transformation in theirbusiness services models. The group serves leading Indian and Internationalclients with distributed operations globally and works as an integrated teamspread across KPMG member firms globally.

Role& Responsibilities

  • Managers willplay the role of being team leaders in various Shared Services OutsourcingAdvisory (SSOA) on client-facing projects and take full responsibility ofplanning, resourcing and delivery; guide the team in every phase of the projectand ensure the delivery meets client expectation. Effectively engage with client counterpart indiscussions related to the project delivery and provide new perspectives /insight. Assist clients in designing and implementingthe right sourcing model, including but not limited to shared services,outsourcing and global business services models.Assist clients throughout the entire spectrumof Shared Services transformation journey—including feasibility study, businesscase analysis, target operating model design, FTE sizing, location selection,SSC design and build out support, service management support, transitionmanagement, process review and continuous improvement. Assist clients in taking the most effectiveoutsourcing decision through RFP development, vendor evaluation, contractnegotiation, portfolio rationalization, benchmarking and end-of-term support. Assist in and contribute to various firm levelinitiatives, including business development, development of tools andmethodologies, thought leadership materials and points of view. Monitor performance of team members and provideconstant guidance, constructive feedback and opportunities to explore new areas
  • Networkto build professional relationships within and outside the Firm
  • Demonstratetechnical capabilities and professional knowledge in specific solution areas
  • Meetstringent quality of engagement delivery through thorough and meticulousplanning and execution of the tasks assigned
  • Regularinteraction with senior client personnel for delivering engagements
  • Monitorprogress of work against the engagement plan
  • Preparethe required deliverables in the format agreed with the EngagementPartner/Director
  • Manageproject financials – revenue, billing, project financial health, etc.
  • LeadTeams and ensure that team members are motivated to perform consistently athigh levels of quality and delivery
  • Remaincurrent on developments in the economy and the relevant sector
  • Possessgood understanding of business processes in the Shared Services environment
  • Conductresearch, read thought leadership and knowledge repositories on a regular basisto deliver as per engagement requirements
  • Workin a dynamic business environment and willing to adapt
  • Participate& lead various firm/practice initiatives/programs
  • Planout work for oneself and reporting team members where relevant
  • Maintaindocumentation as per required KPMG quality standards
  • Involvein business development activity – identify leads, network within and outsideKPMG to spot opportunities
  • Abilityto hold business development conversations with clients
  • Conceptualizeand Develop concept notes, proposals and response to RFPs
  • Activelyparticipate in developing thought leadership material around the services beingdelivered by the FMAS/SSOA practice


  • Stronganalytical and problem solving skill
· Abilityto build complex financial models and business cases
· Experienceof executing projects in the area of shared services and outsourcing, framestrategy / feasibility phase to design and implementation
  • Excellentknowledge of any one of the processes—finance, procurement, HR, IT operations
  • Relevantknowledge of various sourcing models and related leading practices
  • Strongpresentation skills, both oral and written, to clearly communicate solutions andrecommendations to the client
  • Excellentcommunication skills and ability to interact with senior clients (CXO level)
  • Collaborativework-style and ability to work in a team

· Strong leadership qualities and ability tohandle at least 6 – 8 team members

· Abilityto multi-task and work within demanding timelines

· Engineeringand / or MBA from Tier 1 institutes or CAs

· Willingnessto travel within India or abroad for continuous long periods of time

· Havethe ability to work under pressure – stringent deadlines and tough clientconditions
