Engineer - Mechanical Analysis

Role Summary:
The BHGE Subsea Production Systems team is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Analyst. He/She will be involved in executing Mechanical /Structural analysis of Tree System components for Projects and Programs. The analyses will aide early development of conceptual/completed designs and operational decisions in the field with existing equipment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct FEA analysis of SPS equipment including Vertical /Horizontal Chrismas Trees, Tooling and associated handling /transportation fixtures as
needed using Commercial FEA Software ( ANSYS /ABAQUS /STAAD PRO)
  • Review Customer requirements, provide iterative simulations using client feedback, and write comprehensive final reports for both internal clients and external customers.
.- Plan and conducts research, design, and development of standard engineering assignments.
  • Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes sound design recommendations.
  • Assess results for applicability, validity, and conformance to specifications, codes and standards.
  • May be the lead engineer on smaller project with some functional supervision.
  • Usually works with minimum supervision.
  • Assists in project planning and review.
  • Effective interaction with other functions viz Manufacturing, Sourcing and Projects as needed on Issue Resolutions
  • Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • Provide support for both internal and external customers

  • Bachelor's /Masters /PhD with 3-5 yrs experience in modeling and simulation.
  • Should have solid understanding and experience of Statics, Dynamics, Elastic-plastic and Hyperelastic simulation, Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics
  • Good expertise using commercial FEA software (ANSYS Workbench /ABAQUS), and 3D CAD tools (ProE / Unigraphics).
  • Ability to execute hand calculations and verify analytical results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Characteristics:
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Experience with mechanical analysis of Oil & Gas Equipment
  • Familiarity with API 16A, 17D, DNV RP, ASME DIV III codes and guidelines
